Principles Of Animation

Principles of Animation is a motion study that explores how simple geometric forms can express weight, rhythm, intention, and energy.

Built entirely from dots and lines, the project translates six animation principles: mass, ease, exaggeration, cause and effect, overlapping action, and anticipation, into a series of short motion pieces. Each animation uses minimal visual elements to make an invisible motion principle visible, showing how timing, spacing, scale, and movement can shape how an object feels.

The project was created in After Effects, combining 2D and 3D animation techniques to study motion as both a technical system and an expressive language.
